Overdue invoices
How the figures work. Interest is 8% a year over the Bank of England base rate in force on the 30 June or 31 December before the invoice became overdue, fixed for the whole debt and counted daily, plus a fixed sum per invoice: £40 under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99, £100 from £10,000 (Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998). It applies to UK business-to-business invoices unless your contract sets other terms. Check each case before you claim it; this is not legal advice.
